19 - Skull Mountain Stunt Show

This stunt show, located in a lagoon near the skull mountain, is where guests can watch an incredible stunt show that serves as the setup for the ride in this area.

SHOW EXPERIENCE:

The premise of the show is explained as soon as guests sit down. According to legend, there is a magic map that leads its possessors to whatever they want. Here, guests have come to the wrecked ship of some Spanish Explorers who found the map, but died before they could bring it back to Spain.

However, a pirate ship known as the Neptune's Wrath shows up, captained by the pirate Bloodbeard. He wants the map so that he can find the greatest plunder ever stolen. However, another pirate has come to take it, Captain Whirlwind. He knows that Bloodbeard has bad intentions with the map aside from the gold, and so he plans to take it before Bloodbeard gets away.

From there, the crews of both pirates fight over the map, preforming many stunts. Some walk the plank, dodge cannons, and even zipline out of the mouth of skull mountain. In the end, Whirlwind's crew is victorious and leaves to embark on their journey to find the treasure, although Bloodbeard swears he will has his revenge.

20 - A Pirate's Voyage: Map to the Lost Treasure

This boat ride, with boats that spin, move backwards, and turn to help guests focus on the action, is a next-generation attraction that follows a band of pirates and their search for lost treasure.

QUEUE:

Guests go into a courtyard and enter a Spanish Caribbean fortress that has been taken over by Captain Whrirlwind and his crew. As guests make their way through the fortress, they will see written notes explaining the backstory of the ride. After their victory at Skull Mountain, Whirlwind plans to find the Lost Treasure and hopes that the magic map will lead them there. Guests also pass through the armory, a plotting room where Whirlwind and his crew make their plans, and even a storage of barrels. Then, when guests go down into the dungeons, they board their boats. Similar to the vehicles used in Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean ride, guests will climb aboard and sit down.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:

The ride starts out in the dungeons, where the guests pass by several empty jail cells which have now been loaded with treasure that Whirlwind and his crew have plundered. They then come across Whirlwind himself, who announces that the ship is being prepared and that they are getting close to finding the treasure. He tells the guests to meet them at the docks, after which they ascend a lift. They pass by the Pirate's Palate restaurant before heading into town. Here, guests see that Bloodbeard and his crew have arrived, demanding to know the whereabouts of Captain Whirlwind. One of his crew members spins a man on a wheel, interrogating him, but the man doesn't know where they are.

As guests turn the corner, they discover that British soldiers have shown up. They have been informed of pirate activity in the area and have come to take care of it. Guests pass under a shootout between Bloodbeard's crew and the British Navy before proceeding into underwater passageways, where Whirlwind has taken refuge. He tells the guests to keep going while also warning them to be careful. As the guests continue under the passageways, they hear swordfighting and shouting up above them.

Eventually, they make it to the docks, where Whirlwind and his crew are ready to depart on their ship, the Leviathan. The ships proceed through a lagoon and across a misty ocean. Then, as they pass some rock spires, they enter an island in the distance. Here, they go into the jungle, where Whirlwind and his crew are splashing through the vines. Whirlwind tells the guests to be careful, because they don't know what's in store for them.

Soon, they pass through a sunken ship and enter some caves. Here, several skeletal pirates are, caught in activities like guarding their treasure, swordfighting, and the like. However, a glimmer in their eyes hints that they are not entirely dead. Then, as they enter a large cave, the guests discover that the undead captain is there, demanding them to leave. As the boats turn back, Whirlwind orders his crew to take as much gold as they can and run. Then, the boats move backwards and splash down.

As they turn around, guests discover that Bloodbeard and his crew have followed them there. A duel between the Neptune's Wrath and the Leviathan happens, complete with cannon fire, swordfighting pirates, and even some pirates trying to board each other's ships. As guests go into a hole in the Neptune's Wrath, they see Bloodbeard and Whirlwind fighting on a lifeboat. Whirlwind orders the guests to escape, and following a flash of strobe light, they take another drop.

After this, guests return to the village, where the pirates are celebrating their triumph over Bloodbeard. They go throughout the town, waving flags and singing a sea shanty. In the meantime, Bloodbeard is being held in a rack by British soldiers while the villagers stand there and mock him. The guests go back underneath the fortress, where they see Whirlwind one more time. he thanks the guests for their help before they return to the load station and get off.

POST-RIDE:

Guests follow a passage into the Treasure Chest gift shop, where guests can buy pirate merchandise as well as see photos taken of them on the ride.

21 - Buccaneer Cove Treasure Trails

At the edge of the area, guests can travel around some exploration trails, exploring caves, a shipwreck, a children's play area, and more, as they search for buried treasure.
