Fantasy Festival: Attractions

8 - Fairy Tale Carousel
This is a classic carousel in the center of the village, where guests can ride horses as whimsical music plays overhead.

9 - Jack and the Beanstalk
This original dark ride, similar to Peter Pan's Flight, is where guests board flying carts and soar through a magical realm in the sky.

QUEUE:
Near the entrance to the village is a Bavarian house with vines coming out of it, where the attraction is advertised. Here, guests walk through the building and see many tapestries, which explains the backstory of the ride. A boy named Jack tried to gain more money for his family by selling a cow, but the only person who wanted the cow was a mysterious old woman, who gave him a bag of magic beans. However, his mother was disappointed by this, feeling like it was not worth selling the cow over. Jack decided to get rid of the beans by burying them in the field, hoping they would grow into something worth selling.

After this, guests board carts being held up by vines, which sit up to four people. From there, the vehicle moves forward into the ride itself.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The carts begin by flying past Jack's house, where he and his dog, Barry (an original character to the ride) are burying the beans. Then, guests pass the house again to see Jack sleeping. Meanwhile, a large beanstalk is growing nearby.

As the carts ascend the beanstalk, they fly over the countryside, looking down. Several houses are lit up, and even forests and mountains are seen. Then, they enter a room filled with clouds, where Jack and Barry have reached the top of the beanstalk. All around are fantastic structures made out of clouds, as well as a bright moon shining above.

Then, the carts enter the giant's castle. There, the giant is sleeping on a giant cot while Jack looks around at the treasure. Also in there is a giant, golden goose, which honks at guests as they pass by. In the next scene, the giant has awoken and is angrily shouting at Jack, threatening to eat him. Luckily, Jack and Barry are flying away on the back of the goose.

In the final scene, guests return to Jack's house, where he and his mother rejoice over several golden eggs, which were laid by the goose. They hope it will help them out before the carts return to the loading station. There, guests get off and take a walkway back into the Fantasy Festival.

10 - Tales of the Brothers Grimm
Inside a theater is where two storytellers tell the stories of the Brothers Grimm for all people to hear. This includes musical retellings of stories such as "Hansel and Gretel," "Red Riding Hood," and "Snow White and Rose Red." (The Snow White in this story is not the princess, but a different character, even though that version of the character was also a Brothers Grimm story.)

11 - Flight of the Griffin
This is a dumbo-style spinner where guests ride griffins around a magic tree. As they spin, guests can make their griffins go up and down.

12 - Cauldron Spin
In front of the witch's house is where guests can board several black cauldrons and spin around in a teacups-style way.

13 - Red Riding Hood
This is a trackless dark ride where guests go through the forest as they traverse through the story of the tale.

QUEUE:
At the end of the village is another house, one with a bakery design. Here, guests go through the bakery and go through a queue, where letters build the backstory. Red's grandmother is sick and her mother wants the girl to pay a visit to her. Guests then board oversized baskets that sit up to six people.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
Guests leave the bakery and head into a forest, going through a place where critters are playing polka music. They sing an original song as guests see Red nearby, walking through the forest. She is looking at a sign, wondering how far her grandmother's house is. Also nearby is the wolf, who wants to eat the cookies within her basket. Soon, as guests pass by a large tree, we see the wolf meeting with Red for the first time. However, she refuses to give him her cookies, and so the ride continues.

Guests soon go through another part of the forest, which is filled with cuckoo clocks that double as birdhouses. Here, the wolf has tried to spring a trap for Red, only to be caught in it himself. He mutters angrily as he watches Red continue on.

Soon, guests enter a river, where they "float" down. The wolf appears many times, holding a fishing net and trying to catch Red as she rides in a boat. There is even a part where he comes by in a similar-looking basket to the ones the guests are riding in. However, like his previous attempt to catch Red, it ends in failure as he slams into a tree with bees, who sting him relentlessly.

Finally, guests go into the house of the grandmother. They pass by a bed, where the wolf is disguised as grandma, and Red is quickly realizing it. When turning the corner, guests see the wolf holding Red hostage, tied up against a pole as he attempts to eat the cookies. However, a woodsman comes in and hits him on the head with a hammer.

In the final scene, the critters celebrate the victory as Red, the woodsman, and grandma eat some cookies at a table. In the meantime, the wolf is nearby, muttering gibberish as he hangs upside down from a tree. After that, the vehicles return to the load station and the guests get off.
