Mysterious Jungle: Attractions

22 - The Great Jungle Adventure
Guests take a tour of the jungles of Africa, experiencing humor and peril along the way.

QUEUE:
Located in the corner of the African village is a wooden house advertising the attraction. Here, guests come inside to see several research items, such as animal photos, notes on them, items in boxes, and advertisements for the adventure ahead. Then, guests will board a large safari vehicle sitting up to sixteen people. In front is a driver, who welcomes them to the safari and will serve as their guide. Throughout the ride, they will make jokes in a Jungle Cruise-esque way.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
This is not an animal park, so the animals seen in the ride are just animatronics. However, the jeeps are definitely real, and will be refueled after every few rides.

The ride starts by moving away from the station and into the jungle. Here, they pass by many exotic birds, who chirp as the guests pass. They also see some ostriches, who curiously gaze at the guests. Then, they enter a small pond, where some elephants are splashing around. Hippos are also nearby, opening their mouths at guests. They also pass some giraffes, who are eating some food on a tree.

Although this was a normal safari, things get interesting when they come across a crashed plane. Someone is missing, and the guide is ordered to find them. Some say they had some mysterious item with them, but the guide doesn't believe it, saying how magic is not real.

They proceed into a camp that has been overrun by gorillas. Here, they are smashing everything for fun. One gorilla is even holding a frightened-looking explorer in his arms and rocking him like a baby. Hiding in the bushes is a man with a mustache, who orders them to find Explorer Joe, who has an ancient idol.

They then proceed into a second pond, where crocodiles have cornered a young woman. However, she is attacking them with her purse, telling them to get back. The jeeps also come across a tree where a man is hiding from an angry rhinoceros, which snorts at him from below.

Then, things get intense. The jeeps enter a canyon area that is dark and mysterious. Here, they come across another member of the lost plane crash, who gives them a warning:

Explorer: "The idol is alive! It crashed us here! And now it's trying to get us!"

The jeeps continue forward until they come across a pride of lions, who eye them hungrily. Even worse, some hyenas are nearby, laughing at them. Then, as they go into a cave, green light moves around. Standing nearby is Explorer Joe, who is holding a torch in his hand. He orders the guests to leave when suddenly, the idol appears and whispers something strange. Suddenly, rocky creatures appear. The jeep speeds up to try to escape, moving away from them. However, they appear all over, cornering the guests.

Just when all hope is lost, some African hunters come in and battle the rocky monsters. Using this as a distraction, the guide takes the jeep out of the cave and back into the jungle. There, they see Explorer Joe one more time, now sitting in front of a hut with an African woman, who is preparing a soup for him. While the guide is relieved that they made it out okay, he makes the guests promise not to tell anyone in the company about this. He asks if they had an adventure, which the guests shout in confirmation. After that, they return to the station and get off.

23 - Camp Amazon
This is a children's play area where they can explore a treehouse, some boats, caves, and more as they discover the Amazon Rainforest.

24 - Adventure Andes
(Height: 40 in.)
This thrilling aqua-coaster adventure is part log flume, part roller coaster, and truly exciting as guests travel through the Andes mountains in search of a lost temple.

QUEUE:
At the edge of the Amazon village is a river station. Here, guests go through a research area, where they are invited to join an expedition into the Andes mountains. It also brings up a missing explorer named Greg, who has gone in beforehand to scout the place out. As guests go through the station even more, they discover that a lost Inca temple is up there, where a mysterious spirit is said to reside. There are also notes from the leaders of the expedition, claiming that there is no spirit in there and the temple is totally fine to explore. From there, guests board eight-person boats that have four rows. They climb in and pull their lap bars down.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The ride begins rather peacefully. The boats are floating through the jungle, seeing animals. This includes a jaguar, some sloths, a pink dolphin, and others. Then, they head up a lift to the midpoint of the Andes mountains, where a man and his alpaca are standing, telling them to go inside.

As the boats go into the mountain, things get spooky. They float through the caves, discovering the skeletons of Spanish conquistadors caught in booby traps. To add to the tension, strange whispers come from overhead. Then, guests float towards a doorway, which opens up and lets them in as they go. There, they see Greg, who is tangled up in vines.

Greg: "Get out while you still can! The mountain is alive! The spirit is real after all and we've disturbed it!"

Suddenly, as if the boat is possessed by an unseen spirit, it moves away from a main door and towards a waterfall. This is where a coaster part begins, making the boats go down, and then up again, as projections appear all around them. Eventually, they splash into a small pond, continuing their way through the temple.

Then, as they go through, mummified Inca warriors appear, pointing spears at them. At the same time, the boat goes out of the water again and makes a turn to the left. They go around a circle before going up to another floor and dropping down. Then, they stop, as a lift takes them to the top. Greg appears again, holding a torch and shaking with dread.

Greg: "Oh no! It's brought you right into a trap! Hold on!"

At that moment, the ride ascends a lift, which takes them to the ride's highest point. Foreboding music plays overhead as they get higher and higher. Then, when they reach the top, guests get a great view of the entire park, but they have to look quick, because they go down a waterfall and then a second one, splashing right into a lake. After that, guests go into a boathouse, where Greg, now returned from the mountain, is standing, vowing to never go up again. Guests pass a boat before heading to the unloading station.

POST-RIDE:
Guests climb out of their boats and head into a gift shop attached to the boat house called Amazon Accessories. Here, guests can see photos of them taken on the ride as well as merchandise themed to the attraction.
